NEW TUNE TUESDAY: DBT

The Drive By Truckers new album The Big To Do came out a couple of weeks ago and I apologize for not writing about it sooner. 

Currently and surprisingly it ranks #2 on my list of Truckers’ albums right behind Decoration Day.  I’m going to admit that after Jason Isbell left I was skeptical of the new lineup – mainly because most of his songs were always my favorites (“Outfit” is my favorite).

I enjoyed their first post-Isbell release  Brighter Than Creation’s Dark, but didn’t love it.  I f**king love The Big To Do.  I’ve probably listened to it 25 times since now and it’s getting better with each listen.  The song writing is exactly what you’d expect from the Truckers and the music makes me want to go spend the rest of my life in Athens.  

My favorite tracks are “Birthday Boy”, “The Wig He Made Her Wear”, “This F**king Job”, and “(It’s Gonna Be) I Told You So”.  Download those immediately.
