These are old news but I’ve been wanted to post them for some time.  I got a close look at them at the Vans store in Denver last weekend.  I’ll be purchasing the black so plan accordingly.

LOVE WILL TEAR US APART

I’ve been listening to Joy Division non-stop for 2 days straight so via Twitter I declared it a Joy Division kind of Friday.  By some strange coincidence I stumbled upon the picture above on Drake’s blog.  He used it in the post featuring his new single “Find Your Love” – which sounded like a much different Drake than we’re used to.  I think I’ll like it more when I buy the album on June 15.  I’m just glad to see Drake and I are on the same page lately.

THE LOCAL NATIVES – AIRPLANES

Great jam.  I’m going to see them tonight at The Basement here in Nashville.  You should probably come if you’re cool enough.  Chet favorite Suckers are opening for them.  Should be an amazing show.  Starts at 9.  #cmonson

KENTUCKY DERBY WEEKEND

I love horse races.  I’m not sure if it’s because of the horses, the betting or the fillies in sundresses (see how I used fillies there? ha!).  This weekend is the Kentucky Derby, the first race of the Triple Crown.  I haven’t done too much research but that won’t stop me from placing a small wager on a horse or two. 

Last time I checked the favorite, Lookin At Lucky, is 3-1.  It’s not fun betting on favorites.  Try to find a diamond in the rough.  I usually take the horse I think is going to win and then two long shots for small money.  My Kentucky Derby “guy” aka WR says he likes Devil May Care at 10-1.  That might be my horse.  I like watching fillies race.  I have a feeling she’ll go off around 6-1 though since fillies have faired well the last couple of years.

The weather forecast tomorrow is rainy so make sure you’re paying attention before post time.  Muddy conditions could lead to some major surprises. 

Other horses I like are Conveyance, Super Saver, and Dublin.  Good luck tomorrow!  I hope you pick a winner!

JOY DIVISION – TRANSMISSION

Interpol relaunched their website yesterday and have made their single “Lights” available for a free download.  I recommend you check it out here.  I love these guys.  I can’t wait to see them open for U2 in July.  Hell yes.
